Treatment Philosophy
Dr. Soper recommends an orthodontic treatment plan that fits each patient’s individual functional and aesthetics needs and desires.
Early Treatment or Phase I Treatment
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that by age 7, children should have their first orthodontic examination. This doesn’t mean that treatment automatically begins at this age. However, early orthodontic exams provide the opportunity to correct skeletal discrepancies while the bone is still soft and more easily molded into the correct form, allowing for proper function and later positioning of teeth.

Phase II treatment is the follow-up to Phase I. It commences after the rest period from Phase I treatment. It starts when the permanent teeth have erupted into place. It typically consists of full upper and lower braces to fully align all of the permanent teeth.
Back to TopFull Phase Treatment
This is for children with all of their permanent teeth and for adults. It usually includes full upper and lower braces. It combines all treatment needs into one treatment plan at a more mature age.

Dr. Soper regularly works with dentists and specialists to coordinate a variety of treatments – from moving teeth to create the ideal space for implants, to aligning teeth and correcting the bite position for full mouth reconstruction.
